This project is for an extension to the Green Construction Skills Centre in Abingdon, and will enable Abingdon & Witney College to expand its green construction programme offer.
Outcomes
- Each trainee is projected to reduce CO2 by one tonne each year - 150 tonnes in total for all trainees
- The extended centre will provide wider training in green construction skills to the future workforce
- Seven jobs will be created - three teachers, two technicians, a curriculum manager and progress coach
- Opportunities will arise for industry partnerships and community engagement
- Around half a hectare of land will be restored for nature

The projected cost is around £5m.

Up to £5m needs to be raised.
ROI
The investment return will be via interest on a loan, with an indicative repayment period of 20 years.

Estimated initial phase running costs are around 2% of the capital fund value.
Financing
The scheme will be funded through debt and/or bond finance.
