Oxfordshire has hosted landmark national energy systems demonstrators, including the Energy Superhub Oxford and Project LEO, both of which concluded in 2023. These groundbreaking projects demonstrated the potential for delivering innovation in smart local energy systems and showcased Oxfordshire’s leadership in this space.

The Energy Systems Accelerator (TESA) is a collaborative initiative involving the University of Oxford, social enterprises and local energy distributors – successfully piloted a full-scale energy systems accelerator, bringing together academia and industry to address sustainability issues.
